Summer dresses

Tracy likes summer dresses and has boosted her wardrobe with some delicate fabrics:- chiffon, silks and other ultra fine – very slippery(awkward) ones!

A few years ago  our families were on holiday together in Devon and we found some vintage patterns in a lovely little shop.  We bought a couple – we share all our patterns!

unnamed  Tracy chose view B which is the pink one.

She used a beautiful pink chiffon but didn’t want long sleeves or such a low neckline.

It took both of us ages to finally come up with this…..

I’m blaming the chiffon, not our sewing skills!

Although Tracy says she likes it……

she hasn’t wore it yet!!

The other dress Tracy is wearing in the pictures above was a different story – it went together beautifully and she has wore it several times.

I’m planning on making one of these (eventually).  I love the gathers at the waist.

Next up is the Moneta by Colette Patterns.

She bought this fabric from a little haberdashery we found in The Black Country (can’t remember where exactly!)  Tracy looks lovely in it and said it is so comfy.

DSCN2645  The other dress is a simple shift dress in a gorgeous fabric she bought from Sew me Something in Stratford.  I love it and wish I had seen it first!!DSCN2650 - Version 2

Happy sewing –  Carol xxx
